Our Story
The story begins back in the late fifties in our founder’s native land, Egypt. Our young founder Mrs. Sabet, started her profession as a teacher in a private British school. Little did she know at the time but it was her teaching position that inspired a dream. A dream that she would realize more than 20 years later in her new homeland, Canada. After immigrating to Canada with her family in 1972, she struggled as most new immigrants do to raise her children while working several jobs.
Mrs. Sabet never lost focus of her goal that she would some day open her own childcare facility. For the next 10 years, she would juggle different jobs while researching her path. During this time, she realized that her University degree would not be enough to achieve her goal in Canada. She immediately enrolled in the Early Childhood Education program at Humber College.
al After graduating from Humber College, Mrs. Sabet was confident that her E.C.E. diploma along with her BA degree gave her the tools required to achieve her goal. On her birthday in 1981, the decision was made to start considering properties for her childcare centre. 1982 was the year that the family finally incorporated and opened our doors as Carefree Preschool. Since then, Carefree has been providing the highest quality care for children as a licensed daycare.
For 20 years Mrs. Sabet worked hard making Carefree one of Toronto’s premier daycare centres. Providing quality care for children and helping people in the community along the way. Carefree has seen children grow up to become valuable members of society in their own right. In 2002, Carefree lost its founder. Mrs. Sabet’s dream and hard work now passed to her family. Since that time Carefree has been growing and changing with the times. It continues to be a place of love and comfort for children. It provides an atmosphere of family values and inclusion. Carefree has even seen the children that attended during Mrs. Sabet’s time bring their own children to the Centre!
Carefree now, has more than 40 years of operational experience! As we have witnessed so many changes to the childcare infrastructure in Ontario, we continue to focus on the children as our highest priority. As one of Toronto’s premier childcare centres, Carefree continues to thrive by delivering the highest quality standards for the programs it offers.
